Stuart Hughes

Stuart Hughes has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Stuart currently serves as the CEO of Pathios Therapeutics since November 2019. Additionally, in April 2021, they co-founded ThirtyFiveBio. Prior to these roles, Stuart worked at Vertex Pharmaceuticals from October 2013 to November 2019, where they held positions as both a Director and Senior Director. Stuart also worked at Eli Lilly as a Principal Research Scientist from November 2008 to September 2013. Stuart began their career at Cardiff University as a Research Fellow/Senior Lecturer from 1998 to 2008. Before that, they worked at Convergent Business Systems as a Systems Analyst from September 1992 to August 1994.

Stuart Hughes completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Pure & Applied Mathematics from Aberystwyth University from 1989 to 1992. Stuart then pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Cardiff University from 1993 to 1994. Stuart continued their education at Cardiff University and obtained their Ph.D. in Neuroscience from 1994 to 1998.
