James McKernan

James McKernan has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and technology.

James'smost recent role is as a Principal Software Engineer at Pathpoint since April 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of SVP, Technology at Pathpoint from March 2020 to March 2022, and served as the VP of Engineering from November 2018 to March 2020.

Before joining Pathpoint, James was the Director of Engineering at Emerald Cloud Lab from May 2014 to September 2018. In this role, they led the engineering team and was responsible for overseeing platform and application-related tasks.

James also has experience as an Advisor at Glow, Inc from July 2013 to July 2014, and at Affirm, Inc from August 2012 to March 2014.

Prior to that, they worked at HVF Labs as the Chief Architect from March 2012 to May 2014. In this role, James built infrastructure for HVF Labs' companies, including Affirm and Glow, utilizing technologies such as AWS EC2 and MySQL.

Before joining HVF Labs, James worked at Google as a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure from August 2010 to January 2012, where they contributed to Slide becoming Google's first Autonomous Unit (AU).

James began their career at Slide as a Software Engineer - Infrastructure from August 2006 to August 2010. In this role, they were responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical backend services.

Earlier in their career, James worked at Glenridge Solutions as a Senior Consultant - Development from August 2004 to July 2006, and at Exeter Group as a Software Development Consultant from July 2001 to May 2004.

James McKernan earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1997 to 2001.
