Jennifer L. Tanaka

Ms. Tanaka joined Pathway in 2018 and is a VP & Assistant General Counsel in the California office. She is responsible for various legal and compliance issues related to Pathway and its clients, including non-disclosure agreements and the structuring, negotiating, and monitoring of private equity investment transactions.Prior to joining Pathway, Ms. Tanaka was an associate at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP, in its New York City and San Diego offices. At Gunderson, Ms. Tanaka advised venture capital funds and startup companies in a wide variety of corporate transactions, including venture financing, venture debt, and M&A transactions. Ms. Tanaka began her legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP, in New York City, where she represented large-cap companies in both private and public securities and M&A transactions. Ms. Tanaka received a BA in political science and history, with honors, from Duke University, an MA in international security and political economy, with honors, from the University of Chicago, and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif.
