Melissa Ryan

Melissa Ryan has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting roles. Melissa currently works at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) as the Associate Director, Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Analysis since January 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Assistant Director of Financial Planning, Budgeting & Analysis at PCORI from March 2017 to January 2022. Melissa also held the position of Acting Director of Finance at PCORI from May 2016 to March 2017.

Before joining PCORI, Melissa worked as an Engagement Director at CliftonLarsonAllen from December 2015 to May 2016. Melissa was also a Senior Manager at Chortek LLP for a brief period from June 2015 to December 2015. Melissa owned their accounting services business, M Ryan Accounting Services, from October 2014 to June 2015.

Earlier in their career, Melissa held various positions such as Controller at RFID Global Solution from May 2011 to October 2014 and Senior Manager of Accounting at MicroStrategy from April 2009 to April 2011. Melissa served as the President at GMR, Inc from January 2004 to December 2008. Melissa was a Consultant at Sprint from 2005 to 2008 and an Assistant Controller at CORT from June 1992 to August 2003.

Melissa Ryan completed their Bachelor of Science in Accounting from George Mason University between 1987 and 1990. Prior to that, they attended Yorktown High School from 1982 to 1986, but did not obtain a degree or specialize in any field of study during their high school years. Melissa also holds certifications as a Certified Public Accountant, which they received from the VBOA - Virginia Board of Accountancy in October 1991, and as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), obtained from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) in July 2020.
