Nakela L. Cook is the Executive Director at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) since April 2020. Prior to this role, Nakela Cook served as Chief of Staff and Senior Scientific Officer at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute from 2008 to 2020, and as a Clinical Medical Officer in the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences. Nakela Cook's earlier experience includes being an Attending Cardiologist at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and completing fellowships in Health Services Research at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and in Cardiovascular Disease at Massachusetts General Hospital. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School and a Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
