Maria Curran, MSML, SPHR

Maria Curran, MSML, SPHR has over 25 years of experience in human resources. Maria is currently the HR Director at Patterson Pope, a position they have held since June 2011. Prior to that, Maria worked as an HR Manager at The Home Depot from July 2005 to May 2010. Maria also served as an HR Generalist at Sysco from August 2000 to July 2005, and at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. from March 1999 to December 1999. Maria began their career as an HR Coordinator at Solectron Technology in July 1996, and remained in that role until March 1999.

Maria Curran, MSML, SPHR, holds a Master's degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University, which they completed in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in 1995, with a minor in Sociology and a certificate in Criminology.

In addition to their educational background, Maria has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. These certifications include the Workplace Mental Health Ally certification from the SHRM Foundation, which they obtained in September 2022. In 2019, they obtained the Veterans at Work Certificate from the same institution. Furthermore, Maria holds the SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM, which they obtained in February 2015. Lastly, they achieved the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in December 2003.
