Zdenko Šimić is an accomplished scientist currently working at Paul Scherrer Institut PSI since March 2023, following a role as Leading Researcher at Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar from March 2022 to March 2023. Previous experience includes serving as a Science Project Officer at the Joint Research Centre, European Commission, where Zdenko was involved in research and development related to nuclear safety and risk management from September 2015 to August 2021. Zdenko has also contributed as an Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb from February 1989 to August 2015, focusing on risk and reliability in energy sources. Additional roles include Visiting Research Scientist at EC JRC-IET, Probabilistic Safety Assessment Consultant at Framatome AREVA NP, and Fellow at YAEC, Duke Engineering and Services. Zdenko holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zagreb.
