Gerard Wagemaker

Gerard Wagemaker has had an extensive career in the field of gene and cell therapy. Gerard started in 1992 as an Associate Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam and also worked as a Conseiller scientifique at Institut de radioprotection et de sûreté nucléaire from 1996 to 2000. In 2002, they joined Erasmus MC as an Associate Professor and later became a Professor until 2013. During this time, they also served as the Project Coordinator for multiple European Commission projects related to gene therapy and radiation safety. Gerard was also a Board Member of the Netherlands' Society of Gene and Cell Therapy in 2009. In 2011, they worked as a Visiting Professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science and later in 2013, they became a Visiting Professor at Hacettepe University. In 2014, they served as the President of the ESGCT & NVGCT Collaborative Congress. Their most recent role was as a Visiting Professor at Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University, where they worked from 2015 onwards.

Gerard Wagemaker attended Erasmus University Rotterdam from 1966 to 1972, where they pursued studies in Medicine.
