Ben Gray is the current General Counsel at Paxos. Prior to their current role, they held the position of Global Chief Compliance Officer and Deputy General Counsel at Square from February 2016 to January 2022. In this role, they were responsible for managing Square's global compliance team, Board reporting, and program across Cash App, Seller, and TIDAL. Ben also served as the Board appointed BSA/AML Officer responsible for the company's BSA compliance across all products.
Before joining Square, Gray was with the Global Data Consortium Compliance Advisory Board. Ben's previous experience also includes working as an independent advisor providing guidance on international regulatory frameworks and opportunities to the Global Data Consortium (GDC), GDC's key clients, and to Compliance industry professionals.
Ben Gray attended Sidwell Friends School for their pre-college education. Ben then went on to study political science at Brown University, where they earned their B.A. After college, they attended The George Washington University Law School and earned their J.D. Finally, they received certification from the State Bar of California and ACAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist).
