Shaun Khalfan

Shaun Khalfan serves as the SVP and Chief Information Security Officer at PayPal since April 2024 and holds the position of Independent Director at Valimail since 2022. Khalfan is also an Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and previously led information security at Discover Financial Services from January 2021 to April 2024. Khalfan's career includes significant roles such as Managing Director at Barclays and Vice President, CISO at Freddie Mac, alongside leadership positions in cybersecurity at U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Department of the Navy. Additionally, Khalfan has academic experience as an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University, where courses in Health IT, Data Analytics, and Security were co-developed. Khalfan holds an MBA from The George Washington University School of Business and is a graduate of the DOD Executive Leadership Development Program.
