Rebecca (Burke) Joyner

Vice President, Brand Marketing & Corporate Communications at Extend

Rebecca (Burke) Joyner has a wealth of experience in the communications and marketing fields. Rebecca began their career in 1996 as a Newspaper Reporter for the Montgomery Advertiser. In 1997, they moved to the Girl Scout Council of Northwest Georgia as a Marketing Communications Specialist. In 1998, they joined LNS Communications as a Senior Public Relations Associate. From 2002 to 2007, Rebecca worked as an English Teacher for the Triton Regional School District, where they also served as a teacher mentor, newspaper advisor and student council advisor. In 2007, they became a Composition and Literature Instructor at Virginia College. From 2008 to 2013, Rebecca worked as a Freelance Content Strategist, working with companies in high-tech, financial services, non-profit and other industries to create content marketing strategies. In 2013, they joined Metis Communications as Vice President of Content Strategy and Director of Content Services. In 2018, Rebecca began working at Sovos as Vice President, Brand Marketing and Corporate Marketing, and Director of Content Marketing. In 2022, they moved to Extend as Vice President, Brand Marketing & Corporate Communications.

Rebecca (Burke) Joyner obtained their Bachelor's degree in English/journalism from the University of New Hampshire in 1996. Rebecca then attended the Poynter Institute for Media Studies as a Fellow in the same year. In 2002, they earned their Master of Arts in Teaching in English from Salem State University. In 2004, they were a Fellow at the National Endowment for the Humanities at Illinois State University. Finally, in 2017, they completed the Inclusive Leadership program at LeadBoston.
