‘Wáats’Asdíyei Yates

‘Wáats’asdíyei (Joe) Yates is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in storytelling and media production. Currently serving as the Lead Film Storyteller for the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska and as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Yates also owns Alaskan Films and works as a Writer for PBS, contributing as Head Writer for several notable scripts. Previous roles include Associate Producer and Post Production Assistant at BBC Studios, where contributions were made to the LIFE BELOW ZERO: FIRST ALASKANS series, and Manager at the Boys & Girls Club, overseeing program development. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film/Video and Photographic Arts and background studies in Haida History and Culture, Yates combines educational insight with practical experience in various media and counseling roles.
