As President and Chief Executive Officer, Kay Stewart is the majority owner of PTI and is responsible for the strategic direction and operation of the company. Her vision was instrumental in restructuring PTI from a traditional telecommunications distributor into a leading communications integrator. Under her direction, PTI became one of several companies to hold a national contract with T-Mobile to perform cell site modification for the FCC E-911 requirement as well as the only non-public company invited to bid on the recertification of 30,000+ cell sites.
Prior to purchasing and restructuring PTI with Director Emeritus James Cantrell, Stewart ran several successful companies. As President of Middle East Partners Limited, Inc./Latin American Partners, Inc., Stewart assisted Gen. Frank Kelly (US Army, Ret.) in creating a housing development plan for third-world countries. She was also a Presidential Appointee to the Federal Agency General Services Administration Small Business Advisory Council.
Stewart is Past President of Leadership Charlotte and the Charlotte Women Business Owners Association and was a finalist for Charlotte Businesswoman of the Year. She is past Vice President of the John’s Creek Community Association and is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and many other business and industry organizations. Stewart holds Master’s Degrees in both Business Administration and Counseling and Guidance from the University of Kansas.
