James Spence

Global Director - Client Management at Peak Technologies

James Spence has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. James began their career at Meggitt Sensing Systems, where they worked as a Project Manager and introduced concepts such as Just-In-Time, Lean, and Kaizen in the manufacturing environment. James later took on strategic change projects and was involved in the fit-out of a new facility for the company.

After leaving Meggitt Sensing Systems, James joined Computacenter as a Project Manager, where they delivered logistical IT projects and software development projects. James also played a key role in implementing a Business Process Management platform and became the Business Process Manager, responsible for a team of consultants delivering value to customers through business process management. James later took on the role of Group PRS Governance Manager, where they established governance mechanisms across Computacenter Group.

James went on a short career break to support their wife in setting up their own business, but they quickly returned to the workforce, joining Muddy Boots Software as the Head of Service Delivery. In this role, they ensured exceptional customer support and managed services aligned with ITIL standards. James also led first and second line support teams, handled training services, and oversaw the release processes for software products.

Most recently, James worked at Peak Technologies Ltd as the Global Director - Client Management. James'sresponsibilities included overseeing the end-to-end delivery of managed services to customers and managing various areas such as service desk, technical consultancy, project management, and service delivery management. James also handled logistical managed services and device configuration and repair services.

Overall, James Spence has held various leadership roles throughout their career and has demonstrated expertise in delivering customer-centric services, implementing governance mechanisms, and driving strategic change.

James Spence holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Hertfordshire. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications in various areas of IT service management. In 2015, they acquired the "ITIL Foundation in Service Management" certification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. More recently, in 2023, they completed courses such as "Intro to Service Management with ITIL® 4," "Learning JIRA Service Desk," and "ITIL® Foundation 4 First Look" through LinkedIn.
