Matt completed his BS degree in Electrical Engineering at Texas A&M University, where he took an additional focus in math and computer science. While at A&M he also was an undergraduate research assistant within the nuclear engineering department, working on GPU based random number generation. Prior to joining the Pearl Street team, he worked on a wide variety of projects as a software engineer in different industries including Test & Measurement, Industrial IoT, and Finance.

Pearl Street Technologies, Inc. is based in Pittsburgh, PA and backed by the National Science Foundation, ARPA-E, the Department of Energy, and Incite Labs, they are building tools to make the grid more reliable, more secure, and greener. They development activities include software for grid planning with high renewable penetration, parallelized optimization tools to find the most cost and energy efficient dispatch of grid resources, and solutions to detect targeted cyber attacks on the grid.
