Krzysztof Sopyla

Krzysztof Sopyla, PhD, serves as the AI R&D Manager at Pearson, leading an AI Capabilities Lab focused on advancing research in large language models since June 2023. Krzysztof co-founded the Polish ML Community in April 2021 and has been the CEO and Chief Data Scientist at Ermlab Software since June 2014, overseeing R&D in machine learning with an emphasis on NLP. Prior roles include Head of Machine Learning and Data Engineering at STX Next, Lead Machine Learning Researcher at Literacka, and an adjunct professor at Uniwersytet Warmińsko-Mazurski w Olsztynie, where Krzysztof conducted research on neural networks for text comprehension. Krzysztof holds a PhD in Machine Learning and a Master’s in Mathematics, with a robust portfolio of contributions to the machine learning field as a blogger at About Data and various technical projects.
