Eugene Parsons

Eugene Parsons has worked in various roles since 2002. Eugene began their career as a Staff Development Fellow at the Scientific and Industrial Research Center, where they transformed and regenerated tomato using the Agrobacterium method and genotyped an advanced back-cross population in corn. In 2005, they became a Research Assistant/Graduate Student at Purdue University, where they successfully optimized an existing cowpea transformation protocol and transformed cowpea with the sunflower seed albumin (ssa) gene. From 2010-2012, they were a Laboratory Associate and Laboratory Technician at Purdue University, where they investigated a novel Arabidopsis mutant and used techniques such as EMSA and ChIP assays. From 2013-2016, they were an Adjunct Professor at Prairie State College and Anne Arundel Community College, where they redesigned the syllabus for both the lecture and greenhouse sections of the course and taught lectures and greenhouse sections. Since 2019, they have been working at Pebble Labs Inc., where they have held various roles including Chief of Staff, Research Scientist, Aquaculture Program Lead, and Post Doctoral Research Associate.

Eugene Parsons attended Purdue University from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Horticulture. Prior to that, they attended Univesita' degli Studi della Tuscia from 1993 to 2000, where they obtained a Master's Equivalent in Agricultural Sciences.
