Curtis Pickert M.d.

Curtis Pickert, M.D. has an extensive work experience in the medical field. Curtis is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Pediatrix Medical Group since 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive at the same company starting from 2022.

Before joining Pediatrix Medical Group, Dr. Pickert worked at MEDNAX, Health Solutions Partner. Curtis held several roles there, including President of Clinical Services Division from 2017 to 2022, Chief Medical Officer of Western Division from 2015 to 2016, Vice President of Operations - South Central Region from 2014 to 2015, Director of Hospital Based Pediatric Services from 2012 to 2013, and Corporate Medical Director from 2009 to 2011.

Dr. Pickert also worked at Keck School of Medicine as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics from 2008 to 2013, and at Cottage Health as the Chief of Medical Services for Cottage Children's Hospital from 2001 to 2013. Curtis served as the President of Children's Healthcare Network from 2001 to 2009.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Pickert worked at Wesley Medical Center as the Medical Director of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatrics from 1993 to 2001. Curtis also worked as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita from 1998 to 2001, and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the same institution from 1993 to 1998.

Dr. Pickert began their medical career as a Clinical Instructor and Fellow in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Arkansas Children's Hospital from 1990 to 1993. Overall, their work experience spans various leadership and teaching roles in pediatric medicine.

Curtis Pickert M.D. completed their Bachelor's Degree in Science - Biology at Emporia State University in 1980. Curtis then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, graduating in 1984. From 1984 to 1987, they completed a Pediatric Residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. Curtis furthered their specialization in pediatrics by completing a Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in 1987. Following this, they pursued a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Arkansas Children's Hospital from 1990 to 1993.
