Eelke Hermens

Eelke Hermens has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Eelke is currently the CTO at Penelope since October 2021. Prior to that, they worked as an Advisor and VP of Engineering at E-Flux BV starting in September 2021. Eelke also worked as an Independent Consultant at The Difference Engine in 2020.

In 2019, Eelke Hermens served as the Head of Development at Aimforthemoon. From 2018 to 20109, they were the CTO at Shleep, responsible for developing their personalized sleep coaching app.

Before that, Eelke Hermens held the position of CTO at Peerby, a sharing platform, from 2016 to 2018. Eelke also served as a Young (on) Board member at Amsterdam Economic Board in 2016.

Earlier in their career, Eelke Hermens worked at NRC Media as an Information Architect & Team Lead, where they played a key role in transforming the company into a digital media platform. Eelke co-founded Cineville in 2008, where they served as the CTO and played a major role in making quality cinema more accessible. Eelke also held a position as a Bestuurslid at Filmtheater Kriterion from 2005 to 2009.

Eelke Hermens obtained a Master's degree in New Media Studies from the University of Amsterdam. This education was completed between the years 2004 and 2011.
