Enrique Patiño has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Enrique has worked for various companies and organizations in different roles.
Starting in 2006, they worked as a Culture and 'Special editions' Editor at Grupo Semana until 2008. Enrique then joined the Ministerio de cultura de Colombia as an Editor from February 2010 to August 2011.
In February 2010, they also became the Editor of Revista Diners and held the position until July 2012.
From October 2014 to March 2015, Patiño served as the General Editor at EL HERALDO S.A.
In January 2014, they joined Corferias- Centro Internacional de Negocios y Exposiciones de Bogotá as the Communications Director FILBo. Enrique was responsible for the communication strategy and daily work of the International Book Fair of Bogotá, focusing on the dissemination of information of Peru, 'Macondo' and Netherlands as invited countries, and coordinating 1,500 events held in the fair.
Between 2012 and 2018, Patiño worked as a Writer at Grupo Planeta, and during this time, they wrote several books including La Sed, Ni un paso atrás, and Será tarde cuando despierte.
In 2018, they became a Communications consultant at UNICEF América Latina y el Caribe until March 2020.
In 2020, Patiño joined the United Nations as an Oficial de comunicaciones del Proceso de Quito.
Throughout their career, they have also worked as an independent innovation expert, writer, journalist, and photographer, focusing on innovative content and storyworlds creation for different platforms.
Enrique Patiño's education history is as follows:
- In 2022 and 2023, they attended The Futures Factory and pursued a degree in Estudios de Futuros (Futures Thinking) under the supervision of Sohail Inayatullah. This field of study focused on futurism.
- Prior to that, they studied at the Knight Center for Journalism of the Americas, where they completed a course titled "Cómo cubrir la crisis climática y combatir la desinformación" (How to cover the climate crisis and combat misinformation). This course pertained to journalism.
- In 2020, they attended Princeton University and studied Buddhism and modern psychology.
- From 2017 to 2018, they pursued a Master's degree in Media Innovation at Breda University of Applied Sciences.
- In 2002, they participated in the Especialización Programa Balboa para Periodistas Latinoamericanos (Balboa Program Specialization for Latin American Journalists) offered by Fundación Carolina. This program focused on journalism.
- From 1994 to 1999, they attended Universidad de La Sabana and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communication Social and Journalism.
- In 1992 and 1993, they studied Scienze Politiche (political science) at Università degli Studi di Milano.
- Enrique completed their Senior High School education at Mentor High School in 1988.
