Joseph Washburn

Joseph Washburn, PMP CSM has extensive work experience in program and project management, particularly in the areas of communications and media production. Joseph started their career in the US Army in 2013, where they held various senior technical program manager roles. In these roles, they led cross-functional teams, planned and executed the implementation of communications equipment, provided training and assistance to team members, and established operational support relationships with international forces. Joseph also served as a company commander, overseeing the organization, training, and deployment of forces for multimedia production and distribution. Joseph managed large budgets and logistical support for multiple deployments, including an assignment in Kabul, Afghanistan. In addition to their military experience, Joseph worked as a program manager at Penguin Computing starting in 2022.

Joseph Washburn, PMP CSM, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Elizabeth City State University, which they obtained in 2013. In addition to their bachelor's degree, Joseph has earned several certifications throughout their career. Joseph obtained the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from Scrum Alliance in August 2022. In the same month, they also completed the Learning Asana course offered by LinkedIn. In April 2022, Joseph earned the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Furthermore, they obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA in July 2019 and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2022. Lastly, in September 2022, Joseph completed the Learning Jira (Cloud Edition) course offered by LinkedIn.
