Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST)
Justin Garland is an experienced environmental management professional currently serving as the Redwoods Program Manager at Peninsula Open Space Trust since August 2015, where responsibilities include managing program development, communication with key stakeholders, and overseeing significant land transactions. Previously, Justin worked as the Stewardship Manager at Pacific Forest Trust, conducting extensive stewardship monitoring and conservation assessments across 26 properties. Educational qualifications include a Master of Environmental Management in Ecosystem Sciences and Conservation and a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Religion from Duke University and the University of Puget Sound, respectively. Justin's earlier roles encompass research, environmental justice project coordination, and GIS analysis, demonstrating a strong commitment to conservation and sustainable practices.

Our Impact: Since our founding in 1977, POST has protected more than 79,000 acres of permanent open space, farms and parkland in San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. These lands are now part of the National Park system, National Wildlife Refuge system, California State Parks, county and city parks, regional preserves and private farmland. POST takes a science-driven approach in our decisions about land acquisition and stewardship so that every property is appropriately cared for.
