Nya Cherry

Nya Cherry is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in various roles at Penn State University and beyond. Currently serving as a Substitute Teacher at Substitute Teacher Service, Inc., Nya has maintained a safe and engaging environment for middle and secondary school students. In the role of Penn State Lion Ambassador, Nya collaborates on campus-wide projects and serves as a liaison between the Alumni Association and the student body. As University Relations Director, Nya coordinates numerous service and DEIB initiatives, fostering connections within the community. Nya's leadership extends to roles such as Lead Learning Assistant for BIOL220W, where responsibilities included liaising between faculty and students, and as a Security Leader for Penn State THON™, ensuring the safety of participants. Nya is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biology Secondary Education at Penn State University, set to graduate in May 2024.
