Thomas Maatta

Thomas Maatta serves as the Senior Director of Major Gifts at Penn State University’s College of Engineering since November 2017, overseeing recruitment, training, and supervision of development staff while contributing to the college's vision and operations. Previously, Maatta held interim leadership roles focused on development and alumni relations, resulting in significant fundraising achievements. Prior experience includes major gifts and leadership giving positions at Lafayette College, development and marketing management at Lutheran Social Services of Nevada, and teaching at Penn State Altoona. Maatta's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Seminary, and a Graduate Certificate in Fundraising Management from North Park University.
