Steven Dziekonski

Steven Dziekonski, DMA has a diverse work experience in the field of arts education and administration. Currently, they serve as the Head Administrator for the Center for Performing and Fine Arts at Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School (PALCS), where they oversee a pre-professional training program for middle and high school students. In this role, they are responsible for all policies, procedures, scheduling, courses, and events related to the arts program. Steven also leads the student support team and implements faculty professional growth and development initiatives.

Prior to their current position, Steven owned a business called G&S Works that provided flexible orchestrations for smaller ensembles. Steven also held various roles at Pacific Ridge School, including Director of Arts Programs, Arts Coordinator, and Music Educator. At West Virginia University, they worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant.

Additionally, Steven has taught music and drama at Winchester Thurston School, served as a Tax Specialist at H&R Block, and worked as an instructor at Brentwood School, Windward School, Oakwood School, and Wellesley Middle School.

Steven Dziekonski, DMA holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Music Education from Boston University, obtained in 2020. Prior to that, they completed accounting coursework at Los Angeles Valley College from 2003 to 2005. Steven also holds a Master of Arts degree in Music Education from California State University, Northridge, obtained in 1992, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music, obtained in 1984. In terms of additional certifications, Steven has obtained various certifications such as Bookkeeping Basics, Getting Started with Airtable, Learning Airtable, Cultivating Cultural Competence and Inclusion, and Project Management Aptitude. Steven is also certified as a Teacher Of Music Comprehensive K-12 by the Massachusetts Department of Education, Pennsylvania Department of Education, and California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Additionally, they have completed the Orff Schulwerk Level 1 certification offered by the American Orff-Schulwerk Association.
