James Gilbert

James Gilbert is an experienced professional in labor relations and advocacy, currently serving as the Region Field Manager and Region Advocacy Coordinator for the Pennsylvania State Education Association since April 2017. Prior roles include Senior Staff Representative at CWA Local 1036, where responsibilities encompassed negotiating collective bargaining agreements and mobilizing members for political action, and Executive Director of the Veterans Council at AFL CIO, overseeing programs for over 2.5 million veterans. Additional experience includes positions at SEIU Local 500, the State Employees Association of North Carolina, and military service in both the United States Navy and Army National Guard. James Gilbert holds a BA in Political Science from Guilford College and a Certificate in Labor Studies from Penn State University.
