Steffan Carrington

Steffan Carrington has a diverse work experience history. Steffan is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Penny Black since October 2022. Prior to that, Steffan was with Inviqa from 2018 to 2022, where they held different roles such as Senior Software Engineer II (Front End) and Senior Software Engineer I (Front End). In these positions, they worked on large-scale projects, utilizing various technologies and frameworks like NextJS, GraphQL, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, Storybook, and Jest & React Testing Library. Steffan also worked with clients like Boohoo, Atida, Molton Brown, Victoria Health, and SDS (Skills Development Scotland) during their time at Inviqa.

Before Inviqa, Steffan worked at Reading Room from 2014 to 2018. Steffan started as a Frontend Developer and later became a Senior Frontend Developer. At Reading Room, Steffan played a significant role in building and leading the Front End development for Playmaker, an award-winning digital sports platform used by high-profile clients. Steffan also worked at Rippleffect as a Frontend Developer, building responsive web solutions using HTML5, CSS3, SVGs, and JavaScript.

Earlier in their career, Steffan worked as a Frontend Developer at Good Call Internet Marketing Consultants from 2012 to 2014. In this role, they designed and implemented responsive web solutions in WordPress, coding themes from scratch and optimizing them for SEO and page speed. Steffan also had a brief placement as a Junior Front-End Developer at MadeByPi in 2012, where they gained experience in HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite, and basic JavaScript and PHP coding.

Prior to entering the field of web development, Steffan worked as a Fabrication Assembler at Elmac Technologies Ltd. in 2011. Steffan'sresponsibilities included the assembly of fire retardant piping elements, building smaller scale resistors, and paint work, all meeting health and safety regulations and standards.

Steffan Carrington's education history starts with their high school education at Ysgol Uwchradd Glan Clwyd from 2002 to 2007, where they obtained their GCSE's. Steffan then pursued an Applied A Level in ICT at Coleg Cambria from 2007 to 2009. After completing their A Level, Steffan went on to the University of Leeds from 2009 to 2012, earning a Bachelor's Degree in New Media.

In addition to their formal education, Steffan Carrington obtained a BigCommerce Certification from BigCommerce in February 2020.
