Matt Leland

Matt Leland has over 30 years of work experience in various roles related to plant operations, maintenance, and electrical work. Matt started their career at GE as a Maintenance Technician, where they gained experience in troubleshooting and repairing milling equipment. After that, they worked at Results Engineering Inc. as a Controls Engineer, focusing on automated controls and network design. Matt then joined Verso Paper as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician and later became an Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor at both Verso Paper and Verso Paper Bucksport. Matt worked at Brookfield Power as a Controls Engineer before joining Sappi Fine Paper as a Pulp Mill Maintenance System Leader, overseeing maintenance and reliability in the pulp mill. At Sappi North America, they served as a Utilities and Recovery Maintenance System Leader, responsible for maintenance in the utilities and recovery area, as well as a Paper Machine #3 Maintenance System Leader, overseeing maintenance on a paper machine. Currently, they are the Director of Plant and Electrical Operations at Penobscot Valley Hospital. Additionally, they own OCD Electric, where they specialize in residential and commercial electrical work, including heat pump and automatic generator installations. Matt Leland is fully insured, EPA 608 certified, and registered with Efficiency Maine as a residential vendor and commercial qualified partner.

Matt Leland completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Husson University, where they studied from 2013 to 2020.
