Nicholas Smith

Nicholas Smith is an experienced Benefits Manager at the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) since June 2010, overseeing benefit administration for over 1.5 million participants across more than 4,000 plans. Previously, Nicholas served as a Supervisory Benefits Specialist and Supervisor in the Case Analysis and Reporting Branch, where responsibilities included data accuracy and workload planning. As lead actuary, Nicholas applied Title IV regulations of ERISA to calculate termination benefits for the agency's financial statements. Earlier experience includes an actuarial internship at Mercer, focusing on Form 5500 filings and a database project, as well as an intern role at Bankers Life, where financial planning appointment setups and staff motivation programs were developed. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Penn State University.
