Scott Scala currently serves as the K9 Training Director/Instructor at the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, a position held since May 2019. Prior to this role, Scott Scala had a distinguished career with the Maryland State Police from January 1991 to May 2019, where responsibilities included supervising Person Borne K9 detection training and traditional explosive detection training. In this capacity, Scott Scala conducted K9 schools and oversaw deployments for significant events, such as Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles games. Additionally, Scott Scala served as a Sergeant and was specifically trained as a Person Borne Explosive Detection handler and instructor.

Pentagon Force Protection Agency is a civilian Defense Agency within the Department of Defense charged with protecting and safeguarding the occupants, visitors, and infrastructure of the Pentagon, Mark Center, Defense Health Headquarters and other delegated Pentagon facilities. This critical mission is accomplished with law enforcement officers (United States Pentagon Police), criminal investigative and protective services agents; threat management agents; chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives technicians; and anti-terrorism/force protection and physical security personnel. PFPA provides a variety of services to its customers to include emergency services, parking management, lock installation/services, classified waste disposal, access control, building pass issuance, mail screening, and law enforcement.
