Laurel Jansury

Laurel Jansury is an experienced professional in education in emergencies and humanitarian response, currently serving as the Education in Emergencies Advisor at People in Need since October 2019. In this role, Laurel provides technical programmatic support for country programmes in regions impacted by conflict, such as Syria, Iraq, Myanmar, Moldova, and Georgia, and successfully developed programming in response to the war in Ukraine. Laurel has held multiple leadership positions, including Humanitarian and Protection Program Manager, managing a portfolio of projects valued over $3 million in Myanmar, and has contributed to strategic development and donor engagement throughout various organizations. Laurel's academic credentials include a Master of Arts in International Development from The George Washington University, complemented by extensive fundraising and program development experience across numerous NGOs and international initiatives.
