Michael Press

Michael Press is the VP of Finance at PeopleStrategy. Prior to this, they were the Controller at Harmony Healthcare from January 2017 to December 2019. There, they were responsible for managing the finance and accounting team, overseeing weekly payroll processing, billing, cash collection and management, and general ledger maintenance.

Under Michael's leadership, the finance team successfully implemented a plan to automate the billing process using eConnect for Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains). This eliminated manual data entry and associated errors, and led to a reduction in past due accounts receivable of over 80%. Additionally, it significantly reduced the DSO (day sales outstanding). Michael also produced, reviewed, and distributed various weekly sales reports to the executive management team while also identifying any outliers or trending to assist with management planning initiatives.

In addition, Michael created a Microsoft Access database application to give greater visibility into Dynamics GP (Great Plains) data for cash collection management and general ledger detail used for allocations towards commissionable projects. This streamlining of processes and increased overall accuracy for monthly commission calculation and related reporting. Finally, they led the finance team project of documentation and standardization of departmental processes. Michael was also the primary contact point for the annual financial audit with external firm.

Michael Press has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Florida. Michael is certified in Communicating Across Cultures, Unconscious Bias, and Migrating from Skype for Business to Teams from LinkedIn.
