Bersin founded Bersin & Associates in 2002, which was acquired by Deloitte in 2015. Josh then went on to become a Principal and Founder at Bersin, Deloitte Consulting LLP. In 2018, they left Deloitte to start Josh Bersin Academy, which is the world's professional development academy for HR. The academy provides up to date, future-focused education, certificate programs, resources, and connections to HR professionals and their teams around the world.

Bersin is also a Board Member at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.

Josh Bersin Academy is an education institution that offers a Cornell University education in engineering from 1974 to 1978, followed by an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley - Walter A. Haas School of Business in 1988. The academy also provides a Stanford University education in engineering from 1980 to 1982, and a University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business education in finance and marketing from 1980 to 1982.
