Lila McDowell Carlsen

Lila McDowell Carlsen has extensive experience in academia, currently serving as Interim Vice Provost and Professor of Hispanic Studies at Pepperdine University since August 2008. Previously, Lila held positions including Associate Provost, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies at the same institution. Prior to Pepperdine, Lila was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Riverside from August 2005 to July 2008, and at Baylor University from August 2003 to August 2005. Lila McDowell Carlsen obtained a Ph.D. in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of California, Riverside in 2008, a Master of Arts from Baylor University in 2005, and a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University in 2003.
