Ruel Yap

Ruel Yap is an experienced software engineer and engineering team lead currently at Pepperstone since May 2021, where Ruel has played a key role in modernizing the company's flagship product by transitioning from a monolithic architecture to microservices. Prior to this, Ruel worked at Flexera from August 2017 to May 2021, progressing from associate software engineer to software engineer, focusing on the modernization of core features of their flagship product. Ruel's career began at Bankstream as a junior software developer, contributing to projects involving OCR technology until October 2016, after which Ruel joined Intuit for a brief period, working on a project that led to the acquisition of Bankstream. Ruel's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Auckland, completed in 2015, following studies at St Paul's College from 2007 to 2010.
