Shyam Venkat

Shyam Venkat is the CIO of PepsiCo Foods North America at PepsiCo. Shyam has previously served as the SVP & Global CTO of PepsiCo and as a member of the Global Advisory Board and Executive Advisory Board of BT and Samsung Electronics America, respectively. Shyam was also the Vice President of Digital Experience Technology at AT&T from March 2013 to November 2016.

Shyam has been with PepsiCo since January 2018, first serving as the CIO of Frito Lay North America on an interim basis for 8 months before taking on their current role. Shyam is responsible for all IT/Technology needs and manages the IT function for PepsiCo Foods North America.

Under Shyam’s leadership, PepsiCo has seen a clear 3 to 5 year technology strategy aimed at driving an overall digital transformation agenda to support aggressive growth and profit targets. Their focus has been on preparing for retail disruption, driving higher levels of consumer understanding and intimacy, accommodating the rise of eCommerce and Omni-Channel customer interactions, and evolving internal capabilities to leverage the power of modern technologies such as Analytics, Automation, and AI.

Shyam Venkat has a Master of Science in Management Information Systems and Services from The University of Texas at Arlington, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras.
