Daniel Maidment has a wealth of experience in the fields of computer vision engineering, machine learning engineering, product development, and teaching. Daniel began their career as a student and assistant lecturer at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria in 2013. In 2019, they took on a summer internship at F-Secure Consulting. In 2020, they worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at SURION, where they were responsible for building out a POC backend into a minimum viable product and optimizing the performance of the machine learning pipeline. Daniel also worked as a Product Developer at MILKOR, where they assisted in the design of ventilators and navigated the regulatory process. Currently, they are a Computer Vision Engineer at Perceptual Robotics.
Daniel Maidment obtained their International Baccalaureate Diploma from UWC-USA and United World College - USA in 2012. Daniel then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, they obtained an International Baccalaureate Diploma from the International Baccalaureate in August 2012.
