Shamara Carney

Shamara Carney is the Director of Strategic Communications at Perch Credit. Shamara has over two years of experience in communications and public relations, including serving as the CEO and Founder of Mara Media LLC, a communications and public relations strategy consultancy. Prior to that, Shamara worked as a publicist for Sechel Public Relations, where they oversaw client calendars, researched and built media lists, sourced press clippings, created and maintained digital press kits, generated talent memos and travel itineraries, connected talent phone interviews with the media, booked and confirmed glamour and car services, covered press junkets, interviews or events as needed and assisted 3 senior publicists as well as the company founder with any necessary tasks. Shamara has also worked as a social media consultant for Helpr - Corporate Family Support and as a Special Projects Associate for LAGRANT COMMUNICATIONS. In addition, they have experience working in sports information, having served as a USC Athletics Student Assistant.

Shamara Carney has a Master of Arts in Strategic Public Relations from USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Shamara also has a Bachelor's degree in Communication Major and Professional Writing Minor from UC Santa Barbara. Shamara is certified from UCSB Technology Management Program in Technology Management.
