Kamil Holubicki has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to the present. Kamil started their career as an Electronic Equipment Designer at Securus, where they worked on various projects involving the conception, design, and implementation of dedicated devices. Kamil was responsible for developing software, designing hardware, and ensuring successful deployment.
Kamil then moved on to Samsung R&D Institute Poland in 2003, where they worked as a Software Engineer. Kamil was involved in the design and development of software for set-top boxes, and also led a group of engineers in researching set-top boxes with integrated HDD.
In 2005, Kamil joined Advanced Digital Broadcast as an Engineer. Here, they contributed to the design, development, and integration of software for digital TV receivers. Kamil was particularly responsible for GUI development and the certification of the Conax conditional access system. Kamil provided critical support in the final phase of the project.
From 2010 to 2011, Kamil worked as a Senior Software Developer at BTC Business Technology Consulting. Kamil worked on the design and development of optimized data storages for a SCADA system, focusing on high throughput and real-time data mining. Kamil utilized both C++ and C# in different versions of the product.
In 2011, Kamil returned to Samsung R&D Institute Poland as a Senior Software Engineer and Team Leader. Kamil worked on projects for Portugal Telecom, focusing on IPTV-ready set-top boxes that served as clients for a Video On Demand system.
In 2016, Kamil had two different roles. Kamil worked as a C++ Software Architect at Crossover for Work, where they demonstrated their expertise in C++ programming. Kamil also joined Fibar Group as a Senior Software Engineer and took on technical leadership responsibilities in the development of the backend for the Fibaro system, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform. Kamil played a crucial role in refactoring and redesigning the system for improved scalability and maintainability.
From 2016 to 2019, Kamil worked at GFI Software, initially as a C++ Software Architect and later as the Product Chief Architect and C++ Chief Software Architect. Kamil made key technical decisions and led the code review process for GFI MailEssentials, an email protection software, and GFI One Guard, a centralized network security and IT management platform. Kamil also contributed to the development of other products such as GFI EndPoint Security and Kerio Operator.
Kamil's most recent role is at Percona, where they started in 2019 as a Software Engineer. Currently, they serve as a Senior Software Engineer and plays a technical lead role in the development and maintenance of Percona XtraDB Cluster, a MySQL clustering solution, and Percona Server for MySQL, an enhanced open-source drop-in replacement for MySQL databases.
Throughout their career, Kamil has consistently demonstrated their expertise in software engineering, architectural design, technical leadership, and project management.
Kamil Holubicki began their education in 1998 at Poznan University of Technology, where they pursued a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication with a specialization in Multimedia and Consumer Electronics. Kamil completed their studies in 2003 and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. In 2004, Kamil enrolled in postgraduate studies at Warsaw University of Technology, focusing on IT Project Management. After a year, they successfully completed their postgraduate studies in 2005. Decades later, in 2016, Kamil pursued further education in the field of Social Psychology at Uniwersytet SWPS. Kamil attended this institution until 2017, though no specific degree was mentioned for this period.
