William Cole

William Cole has extensive work experience in system administration and technical support. William started their career in 1998 at CDI Information Services, where they provided support for the DaimlerChrysler Extranet and served as a system administrator. In 2000, they joined Mail Abuse Prevention System, LLC as a Senior Consultant in the Customer Operations Group, where they provided training, created software tools, and advised clients and staff on operational issues. From 2001 to 2008, William worked at T-Systems North America and Volkswagen as a Senior Technical Specialist and Unix System Administrator. At T-Systems, they supported mixed Unix hosts and at Volkswagen, they provided Unix system administration support. In 2001, they also served as the Director of Customer Operations at Mail Abuse Prevention System LLC for a brief period. In 2008, William joined CipherSpaceLLC as a System Administrator, where they played key roles in developing highly-resilient DNS infrastructure and deploying OpenNebula Cloud environments. In 2018, they worked as an Independent Consultant and Senior Developer at Peregrine Computer Consultants Corporation. Currently, William is working at CipherSpaceLLC as a Senior System Administrator, providing support for email, web, private cloud, security, and general hosting operations.

William Cole completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in General Science, Theatrical Design & Technology from Webster University from 1984 to 1988. William pursued further education by taking various courses in Mathematics and Computer Science at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville from 1991 to 1992. Before that, Cole studied Chemistry at Saint Louis University from 1982 to 1983.

Additionally, Cole obtained several certifications throughout their education and career. William became a Citrix Certified Administrator for Citrix XenServer 5 from Citrix in May 2012. In December 2006, they achieved the Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 10 certification from Sun Microsystems. Prior to that, in October 2003, they obtained the Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 8 certification, also from Sun Microsystems.
