Brennan Smith is a Partner and Head of Perella Weinberg Partners’ Chicago office.

Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Mr. Smith spent 22 years at Citigroup Global Markets Inc. (and its predecessor companies Salomon Smith Barney and Salomon Brothers) in both New York and Chicago. At Citi, Mr. Smith served as a Managing Director in the Global Industrials Group, Co-Head of the Chicago Office, and Head of Midwest Industrials. Prior to this, Mr. Smith worked at Continental Bank and Bank of America.

At Citi, Mr. Smith actively advised a global client base on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and other banking products. His representative transactions include advising Severstal on the sale of its U.S.-based steel mills to AK Steel and Steel Dynamics; Alpha Natural Resource Partners on its acquisition of Massey Energy; and Novelis on the sale of its consumer foil business to Reynolds.

Mr. Smith received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.

He serves on the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Medical Center Board, the Archdiocese of Chicago School Board, the Advisory Board for the Alliance for Catholic Education, and the Advisory Council for the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame.
