Mohamed Ashick

Mohamed Ashick has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics. Mohamed is currently working as an Associate Director - Data Science & Informatics at Perfect Day since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at LifeBytes Bioinformatics Consulting as the Vice President - Genome Informatics from January 2018 to September 2022. From March 2016 to December 2017, they were self-employed as a Freelance Analyst, specializing in NGS data analysis projects. Before that, they pursued their PhD at IGBMC from September 2012 to December 2015, focusing on multi-dimensional and integrative analysis for NGS-based datasets. Mohamed also worked as a Team Lead - Scientist, NGS Data analysis at Genotypic Technology Private Limited from July 2010 to July 2012, where they handled genome sequencing and smallRNA sequencing analysis projects. Mohamed started their career as a Project Trainee at Shodhaka Life Sciences Pvt Ltd (IBAB) from December 2009 to May 2010.

Mohamed Ashick completed their Higher Secondary education in Bio-maths at P.S.K Matriculation Higher Secondary School from 1991 to 2002. Mohamed then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology at JJ College of Arts & Science, where they studied from 2005 to 2008. After that, they attended Dr.G.R.Damodaran College of Science from 2008 to 2010, specializing in Bioinformatics, and obtained a Master's degree in Science (MSc).
