Michael J Lawrence, MBA, PMP®

Michael J Lawrence, MBA, PMP® has a long and distinguished career in the United States Department of Defense and private sector. Michael J began their career in 1987 as a Military Professional with a Top-Secret SCI Security Clearance and nearly 30 years of experience in the United States Army in a variety of elite, diverse, and global organizations. In 2014, they served as Director of Future US Army Operations in the Pacific and was responsible for all mid-range operational and crisis planning for the employment of 100K(+) personnel in support of strategic objectives in the entire Pacific - Asia region. Michael J also chaired the CEO Initiatives Group, responsible for essential direct assistance to a 4-star Commanding General.

From 2007 to 2014, they served in various roles, including Chief Operating Officer & Senior Program Manager of the Leader Training Program, Chief Operating Officer & Senior Program Manager of Operations-Performance Training Team, Commander (Chief Executive Officer) of 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, and Executive Officer (Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer) of Warrior Transition Battalion.

In 2017, they were appointed President and General Manager at Black Diamond Advanced Technology (Subsidiary of GMRE, Inc), where they wrote a proposal that secured a $20M US Air Force purchase and implemented quality management initiatives to earn the AS 9100 certification in eight months. In 2018, they were promoted to Chief Strategy Officer at Gauss Management Research & Engineering (GMRE, Inc.) and leveraged relationships with key military personnel to elevate engagement to 3-Star and 4-Star General level.

In 2020, they returned to Black Diamond Advanced Technology (BDATech) as VP of Business Strategy and boosted sales from $21M in 2019 to a record $70M in 2020, driving P&L growth in excess of 300%.

Most recently, in 2021, Michael J Lawrence, MBA, PMP® was appointed VP of Business Strategy at Perfecta (HQ in Springfield, VA), where they are responsible for assisting the CEO with developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining corporate strategic initiatives. Michael J focuses on exploring strategic alternatives and examining potential acquisitions, alliances, and alternative business strategies to maximize industry growth opportunities. Michael J also performs market research, business intelligence gathering, and forecasting to ensure that the executive management team understands the implications of competing economic choices in order to make more informed decisions.

Michael J Lawrence, MBA, PMP® holds a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University's Martin J. Whitman School of Management, where they graduated in 2021 with a concentration in Finance. Michael J also holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College in 2014. Michael J also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Michael J'story, and Economics from Auburn University, which they obtained in 1992. In addition, they hold a High School Diploma from Marine Military Academy, which they obtained in 1987. Michael J also holds certifications from LinkedIn, Shipley Associates, and Villanova University. Michael J holds a Top Secret/SCI Clearance from the DOD Central Adjudication Facility.
