Joe Malave

Joe Malave has extensive experience in education and content editing within the Earth Science field. Currently serving as the Publications Editor/Webmaster for the New York Earth Science Teachers Association since November 2017, Joe also holds the position of Science Content Editor for Earth Science and Biology curriculum with Perfection Learning since January 2019. Additionally, as a U.S. Educator for Faulkes Telescope since 2010, Joe provides research access to telescopes located in Hawaii and Australia. Joe's teaching career included roles as an Earth Science and General Science Teacher, and a retired soccer and tennis coach at Montauk School. Notably, Joe has held various leadership positions within educational organizations, such as Finance Chairperson for Custer Institute Observatory and Section Director for Suffolk STANYS. Joe holds a Bachelor's degree in Geology/Planetary Sciences from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in Earth Science Teacher Education from CW Post, along with a National D Coaching License from the United States Soccer Federation.
