Sakhi Gcina is a curatorial fellow at the Performa Hartwig Art Foundation, involved in the Performa Biennial 2023, which showcases live performances and events in New York. Gcina has previously served as a guest curator at the Irma Stern Museum and has held roles such as project program coordinator and assistant curator at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa. Experience also includes working as an international model scout at D&A Model Management and as an assistant artist representative at Infidels Creative Representation. Gcina began a formal education in performance studies and art history at New York University in 2023 while also participating in a course on rethinking exhibition models at the School for Curatorial Studies Venice. Academic background includes a Bachelor's (Hons) Degree in Curatorship and a Bachelor's Degree in Film and Media Production, alongside ongoing studies in global blackness and its intersections with race, gender, and class.
