Cathy Salit

CEO Emerita & co-founder at Performance of a Lifetime

Cathy Salit is a performance activist and experienced leader in the business world. Cathy began their career in 1990 as Adjunct Faculty at the East Side Institute, a research and training center in post-modern psychologies and community building. In 1991, they became Artistic Associate at Castillo Theatre. In 1997, they co-founded Performance of a Lifetime, where they served as CEO until 2020. During their time at Performance of a Lifetime, they developed an approach called The Becoming Principle,TM, which helps business leaders grow, learn and develop by being who they are, and who they are not. In 2019, they became a Member of the Board of Advisors at Freestyle Love Supreme Academy. In 2020, they founded The Global Play Brigade (GPB), a global community made up of play and performance activists, artists, educators and therapists from over 45 countries. In 2021, they became President of Creative Choice Consulting, Inc.

Cathy Salit dropped out of Junior High School in 1970 and started an alternative school in New York City at the age of 13. Cathy never obtained a degree, but studied alternative education, post modernism, performative psychology, theater, music theory, and singing. Cathy did not pursue any additional certifications.
