Shiyu Zhou is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Perimeter Institute since September 2023. Previously, Shiyu served as President of Women in Physics at Boston University from September 2018 to September 2023, where key achievements included organizing the Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics and launching a mentorship program for female undergraduates. As a PhD candidate and Research Assistant at Boston University from September 2017 to August 2023, Shiyu developed novel models for benchmarking quantum devices and simulated topological protected quantum states. Additional experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Fellow, recognized with an Outstanding Teaching Fellow award, and an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon Web Services, where Shiyu prototyped NISQ algorithms. Shiyu's teaching experience extends to serving as a Teaching Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Academic credentials include a PhD in Physics and a Bachelor's degree in Physics and Philosophy from Boston University, along with secondary education from Shanghai No.3 Girls High School.
