Sagarika Deka

Sagarika Deka has a diverse work experience. Sagarika is currently working as an Ashoka Young Change Maker at Ashoka. Prior to that, they founded the organization Maan ki Umeed, which focuses on education, empowerment, employment, and service. Sagarika also served as the Club Head for both the PERIOD Movement and Girl Up, United Nations Foundation. In addition, they worked as a summer intern at Cotton University and as a representative for G20 India. Sagarika has also gained experience in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Sagarika has been involved in humanitarian work as the city lead for the World Youth Heart Federation and as a participant in UNICEF's youth mediathon. Sagarika has also worked as a digital journalist for The North-Eastern Chronicle.

Sagarika Deka's education history begins in 2006 when they attended Faculty High School for their middle school education. Sagarika then went on to Sai Vikash Junior College from 2018 to 2020, where they completed their 12th grade with a science background. In 2020, Sagarika enrolled at Amity University and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with a focus on research, which they are expected to complete in 2024. Additionally, in 2020, they also started another course at Amity University, specifically in Zoology Hons with Research. Furthermore, they are currently studying at Indira Gandhi National Open University for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science Hons, which they began in 2022.
