Head Of Club Licensing at UEFA

Ales Zavrl has a diverse and extensive work experience in the sports industry. Ales started their career in 2000 at the Football Association of Slovenia, where they held several roles, including Secretary of National Teams and Club Licensing Manager. In 2010, they became the General Secretary/CEO of the association until 2017. During this time, they also served as the Head of Competitions and Club Licensing.

In 2006, Ales joined UEFA and held various positions such as a UEFA Match Officer/Delegate and a member of the UEFA Club Licensing Committee and Working Groups. Ales was also a member of the UEFA Club Licensing Panel.

In 2017, Ales started working at UEFA as the Head of Club Licensing. Additionally, they served as a member of the Council for Sport at Vlada Republike Slovenije from 2013 to 2017.

Ales Zavrl's education history begins with their completion of high school at Gimnazija Bezigrad from 1987 to 1991. Ales then pursued their Bachelor of Science in Economics at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics from 1991 to 1998. Later on, they obtained a Master's degree in European Sport Governance from the Université de Limoges, studying from 2018 to 2020.

In addition to their formal education, Ales Zavrl also holds two coaching diplomas. Ales obtained the Coaching Diploma UEFA B from the Football Association of Slovenia in 2000 and the Coaching Diploma C in 1999, also from the Football Association of Slovenia.
