Hamid Badiei has extensive work experience in research and development, particularly in the field of mass spectrometry. Hamid began their career as a Research Associate at the Department of Chemistry, University of Waterloo from 1999 to 2004. Hamid then served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Waterloo from 2004 to 2006. Badiei then joined AB SCIEX as a Senior Scientist, specializing in ICP-MS Technology from 2006 to 2010.
In 2010, Badiei joined PerkinElmer, Inc. and held multiple roles over the years. Hamid started as a Principal Research Scientist from 2010 to 2012, where they were responsible for driving innovation, proposing technology concepts, and building the IP portfolio. Hamid then served as a Sr. Principal Research Scientist from 2012 to 2016, leading a research program that explored the limits of Atomic Spectrometry and mass spectrometry. During this time, they also published research work in scientific journals and presented findings at conferences.
From 2016 to the present, Badiei held the position of Director of Research & Development, Mass Spectrometry at PerkinElmer, Inc. In 2019, they were promoted to Chief Technology Scientist, where they identified opportunities and risks for Analytical Solutions product lines, developed cross-platform technology strategies, and executed research plans.
Currently, Badiei serves as the Senior Director of Research & Development, Mass Spectrometry at PerkinElmer, Inc. starting from March 2022. Their role involves overseeing the research and development activities in the field of mass spectrometry.
Hamid Badiei earned their Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry with a specialization in Atomic Spectrometry - Instrumentation & Design from the University of Waterloo, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed an MSc program in Analytical Chemistry with a focus on Atomic Spectrometry - Instrumentation & Design at the same institution from 1997 to 1999.
